Rating: 3.5
I picked up "Patty Jane's House of Curl" because I really enjoyed "Angry Housewives Eating BonBons". So, I thought I'd try another Lorna Landvik novel.
I was not as impressed with "Patty Jane's House of Curl". That's not to say that it was bad. I just didn't have the same feelings towards the characters. I found that I didn't relate to any of them in Patty Jane, and that their story line was weaker - even a bit predictable.
I did like, however, how the story was arranged. It's narrated by the daughter of Patty Jane, but the story is mostly concerned with Patty Jane herself as a young woman.
"Patty Jane's House of Curl" was a fun, easy, and light read. I'm happy to have read it. But, as far as recommending it to others, I don't know... It's not one of those that you must read, but you'll probably enjoy it if you do.
