"The Apothecary's Daughter"

2009; 416 pages.
Rating: 3.5
"The Apothecary's Daughter" was a rather long and drawn out book to be honest. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. Instead, it was mediocre.
I knew very early on how it was going to end. It was very Jane Austen-esque. But, Klassen kept drawing it out.
That having been said, I did like the characters, and I was always interested in reading it. There wasn't a time at all when I even thought of not finishing. So, that's saying something.
But, I'm a bit tired of reading books that are just so-so. I'm really looking for one that is going to knock my socks off. And, unfortunately, this wasn't it.
Do check it out...there's lots of fun information on old apothecary techniques and tricks of the trade.
