Monster in Law is the nightmare every woman faces when she's about to get married: the idea that her future mother in law hates her. However, in the case of Monster in Law, she does. Jane Fonda (Viola) does everything she can to sabotage her son's wedding.

At first the premise behind Monster in Law is not only believable, but normal. However, then things get so out of control that it becomes incredibly un-believable, and more annoying to watch. And, Jennifer Lopez doesn't offer the best performance here either.

I was a bit saddened that Jane Fonda chose Monster in Law to be her first film in fifteen years. However, her performance was a good one. It was the movie that I didn't like. It's funny at times, but it lost its believability and therefore lost some of its comedy.
