The Power of One
1992
Starring: Morgan Freeman,
Rating: 5
"The Power of One" is one of the best movies I think I have ever seen. "The Power of One" tells the story of an English boy growing up in South Africa during and after WWII. For those of you who don't know, South Africa was a very divided nation up until the late 1990s. The conditions there were similar to the ones in the United States before the Civil Rights Act.
Even though P.K. is just a boy, he decides that one person really can make a difference. He learns that "little beat big when little smart", so he learns from the best around him. He studies with a German prodigy pianist and cacti expert, a boxer in the local prison, and eventually school.
No matter how you're feeling when you start watching "The Power of One", you'll feel amazing when it's over. In fact, you might even wish it hadn't ended. Very rarely is struggle rewarded in such a great way.
Go now, run to your video store, or better yet, buy "The Power of One" before you do anything else today. You'll be so happy you did.
