You know those "Take a book...Leave a book" shelves that you see at coffee shops? I love those. They allow me to read the most random books.
I received "The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists" by: Gideon Defoe from a friend, who picked it up from a Take a book leave a book shelf.
I like that it's the double pack. By turning the book upside-down, I also get a copy of the next book, "The Pirates! In an Adventure with Ahab". If it weren't for that, I probably wouldn't read it.
The Pirates! Books are kind of written like watching Monty Python. They're just a bunch of silliness really. And a bit of silliness is really good fun now and then.
But, to be completely honest, I think my husband could write sillier books. He does write silly songs, and I love them. Maybe I'm biased...but I doubt it.
If you're looking for a very fast read, and one that really is nothing but silliness...definitely check out any of "The Pirates!" books...I'm sure they're all pretty much the same.
