How was Flashdance ever a good movie?
Starring: Jennifer Beals
All my life I've heard about how great "Flashdance" is. My high school band even played the theme song for a concert once. Our conductor let us dump a bucket of water on him at the end. I never understood the reference, but I do now.
We watched "Flashdance" having heard only great thigns about it. The conculsion I've come to is this: The only reason this movie was ever considered good was because it definied the dance of the time. Otherwise, I have no idea why anyone would ever want to watch this movie.
Sure, she's a super sexy girl who is a welder by day and a dancer by night, but the story sucks. It's bad. There is no development, no reason for me to want to keep watching, and the acting isn't even good.
Flashdance is so bad, that I really wanted to watch a second movie just to get this one out of my head.
