What an amazing movie. I love that Gibson insisted the movie be filmed in Mayan and subtitled. Awesome.
I also really like that there wasn't a whole lot of dialog in the movie. It forced the makers, and the viewers, to be more imaginative.
The beginning and all the practical jokes were funny, but things quickly turned serious. I spent most of the movie sitting with a very concerned expression on my face. But, I'm sure that Jaguar Paw was just a bit on the concerned part as well.
What a different world we live in. I like that Apocalypto takes us back to an ancient time.
I did feel like the end got a bit cut off (which is interesting since the movie is nearly 2.5 hours). But, I really am glad for the chance to have seen it - especially after having visited Tikal (Mayan city depicted in the movie) and having heard Mayan myself.
