I love having friends who don't mind loaning out books. I have now come to realize how much I relied on a library. When that was taken away from me (by choice...I no longer have a permanent address), I didn't know just how expensive it was to BUY books all the time.
I always knew that I used the public library more than anyone else I knew, but holy cats...I've bought a lot of books over the last 8 months. So, it's a nice change to have someone loan me a book...and one that's in English at that!
So, I jumped at the chance to read "Everyone Worth Knowing" by Lauren Weisberger. I'd read "The Devil Wears Prada" and while I didn't love it, I did like it.
"Everyone Worth Knowing" follows much the same script: girl gets job she hates in order to get something she loves later; girl quits job with no notice and in the middle of the biggest event that job has ever seen.
I also thought that it was painfully predictable. That doesn't mean that I didn't like it. It just means that it's probably not a book that is going to take up permanent residence on my bookshelf.
