Starring: Carey Mulligan, Peter Saarsgard, Rosamund Pike
2009; 100 minutes
I can see why An Education was nominated for so many Academy Awards. It is goo-ood. The acting is fabulous all around, and the story line is one that I'm sure many can relate to in one way or another.
In 1960s London, a young girl who is studying for her entrance exams to Oxford, falls in love with an older man. After he proposes, she decides to drop out of school. Things aren't always as they seem as she soon finds out.
An Education is rated PG-13. For smoking. Cigarettes. That's the first time I've ever seen that before. Interesting.
I highly recommend that you watch An Education. Carey Mulligan's debut was magical. And Saarsgard and Pike were tremendous as well.
