Pride and Prejudice and Zombies...really
The "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies"
by: Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith.
2009; 320 pages,
rating: 4
I kind of hate it when I read a book and think, "Why didn't I think of that?" That is exactly how I felt after reading "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies".
Seriously. All Grahame-Smith did was take a book that everyone already knows and loves, adds a few sentences here and there, and then re-sells it.
Brilliant.
Again, I only wish I'd thought of it.
As far as a book on its own goes, it's really not too impressive. But, I love the illustrations.
And the reading questions at the end had me laughing out loud.
If you know Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" (and who doesn't?), then you'll enjoy "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies".
I'm not saying that you'll like it, it's probably one of those that is a love/hate book. But, it's fun in a different way.
