Akeelah and the Bee is a very cute, albeit predictable movie. I'm really glad that I saw it, and I recommend that you see it too. But, it was a tad too predictable for my taste.

Akeelah and the Bee is the story of Akeelah who is 11 years old, and goes to school in not the best neighborhood in LA. She doesn't want the other kids to pick on her because she's smart, so she doesn't show it. Then one day she is somewhat forced into the school spelling bee. She easily wins, and an adventure begins.

Akeelah and the Bee is a nice, light-hearted movie. I recommend watching it, especially with your family. Heck, it even made me what to spell better - and that's somethin.
