Fred Claus is the story of Santa Claus' older brother. Fred (Vaughn) does everything in his power to avoid Christmas and Santa. Not only does Fred have to deal with his brother, but he also has to face issues of his own. His girlfriend wants a commitment; he is desperate for cash; his neighbor was taken away by child protective services.

Fred Claus is a rather silly movie. It certainly is not one of my favorite Christmas movies. However, it was a good way to while away 2 hours on a flight.

It's hard not to have some funny parts when Vince Vaughn in cast. So, I definitely laughed. But, I just wasn't terribly pleased overall. I guess it could be that I feel that there just wasn't enough substance to the movie. I like movies with more material (both character wise and otherwise).

If you're in the mood for a Christmas movie with a bit of a different twist, check out Fred Claus. If you're in a thinking mood, then this isn't the movie for you.
