Eat Pray Love
By: Elizabeth Gilbert
Rating: 2.5
"Eat Pray Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert is "one woman's search for everything across Italy, India, and Indonesia".
It came highly recommended to me. I love travel. I love reading about other people's experiences while traveling. I really enjoy reading about everywhere, places I've been and places I haven't been. But, I really dislike reading about someone who complains about their live. This is what I call the "poor me" syndrome. And let me tell you, this book's got that.
Gilbert's "poor me" went on for most of the book. It was so infiltrated that I almost couldn't finish it. But, I had to. Why? Because I really wanted to hear what it was like in Bali, not because I cared about any of the characters. Well, that's not true. There was an old man in Bali who I cared about.
If you're going to whine and complain about how bad your life is, don't make me read about it for over 300 pages. One or two would do.
The good part of the book? Hearing about Italy and Indonesia. But I still don't really recommend that you put yourself through it
I would really love to hear your thoughts on the book. If you liked it or didn't like it; I'd still love to hear about it.

Bali is Central Indonesian Time, the same as Singapore, eight hours ahead of GMT and four hours behind Australian Eastern Standard Time. This means when it is noon in London, 10 PM in Sydney, 7 AM in New York and 4 AM in Los Angeles, it is 8 PM in Bali.

The first price is not the last price in Bali. Learn the art of bargaining unless you are purchasing in a restaurant shop or department store. Always ask for the best price and remember that your initial offer to counter the vendors rate should be lower than the price you want to pay.

Water pollution can also be a problem, especially after rains. Try to swim well away from any open streams you see flowing into the surf. Be careful when swimming over coral, and never walk on it at all. It can be very sharp and coral cuts are easily infected. In addition, you are damaging a fragile environment.

Finally the, Balinese build shrines for spirits believed to live in large trees. Artistic offerings are made of flowers and fruit. Rice is in addition offered to most of the gods and spirits.
