"Eragon" is a really fun fantasy novel. I thought it was very well written, especially since Christopher Paolini was only 15 when he wrote it. I think that's amazing. I mean, what did I do at 15? It certainly wasn't publishing my first novel.
Eragon is the name of a young boy, who discovers a dragon, Saphira. Dragons used to be plentiful and sacred, but now they are nearly extinct. It is up to Eragon and Saphira to stop the evil ruler of the land and restore peace and order. (That sounds pretty much like any other fantasy novel doesn't it?)
The writing of "Eragon" is fun and fresh. It's not so overpowering as to put off non-fantasy readers, like myself. There's just enough to keep you coming back for more (even a second, and now a third, book). I really enjoyed it. Actually, I listened to the audio book, and it made for a great read.
I highly recommend that you read "Eragon". Actually, I recommend that you listen to it.
