I admit. I'm an avid Mary Higgins Clark reader. In fact, I have probably read all her novels at least once. Perhaps that is why I have become a good predictor of what happens, and because of that, a lot of the thrill that once was there is not gone, but definitely not as strong. I still remember the first book I read by Mary Higgins Clark. It was A Cry in the Night. I stayed up all night reading that book. I just couldn't put it down, and when I did, I was too scared to move. So, needless to say, if you haven't read it before, check it out.
I Heard That Song Before follows Kay Lansing as her life gets turned upside down - repeatedly. Her mother dies when she is just weeks old, then her father before she's even in her teens. When she marries millionare Peter Carrington, they barely return from their honeymoon when Peter is arrested for murder.
Peter is a sleepwalker. And he has become convinced that he could be dangerous while he's asleep, and not know a thing about what happens. Kay doesn't believe that Peter is dangerous, waking or sleeping. She holds strongly to this belief. But then she shares a childhood memory, and all her beliefs are challenged, and not just by her.
