On Chesil Beach
By: Ian McEwan
2007; 224 pages
Rating: 1
On Chesil Beach is the story of a wedding night. If you don't want to read about what happens between a man and a woman on the wedding night in painfully explicit detail, then don't read this book. I'm not against sex, but sometimes it gets over the top, and that's how McEwan wrote it this time.
Overall, I didn't really care for the rest of the book either. That's why the rating is low. I can overlook a portion of a book I don't like if the rest of it is really good. But in the case of On Chesil Beach, it wasn't really good. It wasn't good. It was boring. I listened to the audio of this book (read by the author). While the narration was good, I found myself drifting off, and when I came back, I realized that I hadn't missed a thing. I was just uninterested with the characters and the event(s) that took place.
The only good part about the book is the very very end. The first sentence of the last paragraph. But, I won't spoil it for you. You might actually like the book.

Hey there, I am thinking about purchasing an Amazon Kindle and I've been looking at some reviews. Is it worth it?
