"Revolutionary Road" is supposed to be this revolutionary novel about love and life in America. Maybe I don't get it because I wasn't around in the 60s. Maybe I don't get it because I am more than happy in my marriage and the choices I've made in life. Maybe I don't get it because I know that I always have a choice, and life doesn't just happen. I made a choice to get to where I am, whether I made the right one, or wish I'd made a different one.
It bothers me when people (real or fictional) think that life just happened to them and they did nothing to deserve it. And that was the main theme of the book. Every single character felt this way.
I don't really recommend that you read it.
