The Angel Experiment (Maximum Ride, Book 1)

This was a fun book to read. It's a YA novel about kids who had bird DNA grafted onto theirs, and they have wings. Obviously having wings is a good and a bad thing. The kids have no real family, and they are on the run from evil dog-like creatures called Erasers. They are also sought after by scientists who work at "The School" - but not sought after in a good way.
I enjoy YA literature, especially when it's free. Nowadays, I take all the free books I can (since my main reading is done via Kindle while I'm in non-English speaking countries). This was a book that was (and is) offered for free for Kindle readers.
I don't know that I'll buy the rest of the series in order to read them, or just wait until I have access to a library again. But, I imagine I'll feel that way about plenty of books over the next few years.
I definitely recommend reading this if you have any YAs in your household, maybe even read it together. It will provide some good fodder for discussion.

Personally I love my Kindle, I was skeptical how much I would like it prior to purchase but the Kindle is as easy on the easy as regular print, with added features such as dictionary support (allowing your to define any word while reading) and the ability to download any new book wirelessly anywhere anytime is great. Although I did finish a book on a plane the other day and was a little miffed I couldn't pick up the next in the series wirelessly (How spoiled am I) Anyways I think the second generation was great, I wouldn't like it to be any larger and for $189 it beats iPad and Nook
